Laser Permanent Makeup Removal
Permanent makeup doesn’t have to be forever. Your fresh start begins with a personalised laser removal plan.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR TREATMENT
How does it work?
Our ND laser uses a specialist crystal—neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet—to generate laser light. Short pulses target unwanted pigment, breaking it into tiny particles that your body’s immune system gradually clears.
Permanent makeup can sometimes be easier and quicker to remove than traditional tattoos, particularly when the pigment is less dense and sits closer to the skin’s surface. However, the pigment’s colour, composition and any previous top-ups influence how readily it responds, so fewer sessions aren’t guaranteed.
The ink absorbs the light. Laser energy passes into the skin and is absorbed by pigment that responds to the selected wavelength.
The pigment breaks into smaller pieces. Rapid heating and expansion create pressure waves that help fragment the ink. The short pulses limit heat spreading into surrounding tissue.
Your immune system gets to work. Specialist immune cells called macrophages collect the smaller ink fragments, beginning your body’s natural clearance process.
Your tattoo gradually fades. Over the following weeks, fragmented pigment is progressively cleared from the treated skin, allowing further fading between appointments.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We offer laser removal for eyebrows, lip liner and eyeliner, subject to suitability. Any other areas can be discussed during your consultation, along with the treatment options and any specialist precautions required.
-
There isn’t one number that suits everyone. The amount and depth of pigment, its ingredients, previous top-ups and your skin’s response all influence the treatment course.
Some permanent makeup responds within a few sessions, while more resistant or layered pigment can need considerably longer. A small treatment area does not necessarily mean it will clear quickly.
At consultation, we’ll discuss an estimated treatment range and timescale, then review this as your pigment fades.
-
You may feel a brief, hot snapping or stinging sensation. Sensitivity varies between people and treatment areas, so we’ll talk you through what to expect rather than promise a painless experience.
If you’re feeling nervous, let us know. We’ll discuss appropriate comfort measures before treatment and explain what your appointment will involve. Any numbing products should be agreed with your practitioner in advance.
-
Yes—colour changes can be part of the process. As darker pigment fades, other colours within the original blend can become more noticeable. Certain cosmetic pigments can also react to the laser by becoming darker.
These are different responses, and neither should automatically be treated as a sign that the pigment will disappear with another session. We’ll reassess any changes and explain how they affect your options before continuing.
-
Your consultation is a chance to explain what you’d like to change and understand your options. Whether the colour has shifted, the shape no longer suits you or you simply want a different look, we’ll start by listening.
We’ll discuss:
Your existing permanent makeup and previous top-ups or corrections.
Your skin, medical history, medications and previous reactions.
Whether you want fading, partial removal or fuller clearance.
Suitable treatment options, patch testing and potential risks.
Estimated sessions, appointment spacing, pricing and aftercare.
If you know the pigment brand or have information from your original practitioner, bring it along. Don’t worry if you don’t—we can still begin with an assessment.
